There is a new
Sheriff in town
Tired of
young hooligans, annoying colleges, roommates, kids, tedious students, (and the list goes
on and on) messing up your carefully set up MS-Windows 95, 98, ME.
Well "No more mister nice guy!", there is a new Sheriff in town and his name is
"Security SetUp II - Light"..
Presenting
"Security SetUp II - Light". "Security SetUp II - Light" will present
you with the ability to combat vandalism (or pure ignorance) from destroying the Windows
9X / ME setup. No more must you endure constant changes to the desktop-, network-,
dial-up-, internet- etc. etc. settings. Now you are in charge, and have a
way of placing a virtual 'padlock' on those settings.
YOU are in control
Security SetUp will simply disable the user's ability to access the settings (selected by
you), you will be put in charge of what areas of the Windows 9X / ME setup the user can
access. You decide the level of control, you can go from the extreme (E.g. deciding
that the user can change nothing and only access a list of specified programs / files) to
the lighter levels (E.g. the user cannot change the desktop resolution)... You are BACK IN
CHARGE, finally...
Saving time
The goal is to save time and
agony, no more long hours cleaning up the mess from those destructive forces destroying
your system settings.
Sounds too good to
be true?
Well yes and no. Windows 9X / ME is NOT a secure system nor will it ever be, but by using
"Security SetUp II - Light" you will have far greater control over the
situation. However you will not be in absolute control, a skilled person set on hacking
your system armed with great knowledge of the deep core of Windows 9X /
ME and the right tools,
will be able to bypass any security application (like Security SetUp II - Light")
built for Windows 9X / ME. The good news is that we are talking "expert knowledge"
here, not every young hacker out there is capable of hacking this kind of security. Thus
Security SetUp II - Light will be sufficient for most environments (like your home PC,
classroom PC's, library PC's etc etc.), in our opinion places with greater need for
security will be running Windows NT (which is born with a far better build in security
interface). What we are saying here is "Security SetUp is NOT a magic wand that will
solve ALL your security problems over night", when that is said we will continue
saying that "Security SetUp WILL make the task of administering the security issues
on your PC / PC's A WHOLE LOT EASIER, no kidding".
Anyone can do this
Security SetUp is very easy
to use, however we do advise that it only be used by people with some knowledge of Windows
9X / ME. You will be presented with an easy to understand GUI assisted with on-line easy
to access built in help.
FREE (well, almost)
What more to say than try a
fully functional version FREE for 20 days (Security SetUp II is shareware), if you like it
(which we are sure of) you are offered the opportunity to buy a licence at a
ridiculously cheap rate (both private and commercial licences are available at unbeatable prices).
